Celebrating and preserving the performing arts in Westmoreland County

Our mission

The Theatre Factory is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating, preserving, and advancing the performing arts throughout Westmoreland County and the surrounding region. We provide a creative home for actors, singers, musicians, directors, designers, technicians, and artists of all ages and experience levels. Through theatrical productions, educational programs, and community partnerships, we strive to make the arts accessible to individuals and communities that may not otherwise have opportunities to experience live theatre and arts education. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression can thrive. Through youth programming, performance opportunities, and scholarships for local students, The Theatre Factory continues to enrich the cultural life of our region and inspire future generations of artists.

Join us for Fun Home, the Tony Award-winning musical based on Alison Bechdel’s acclaimed graphic memoir!

Told through three versions of Alison at different stages of her life, Fun Home is a powerful and deeply human story about discovering who we are, what we inherit from our families, and the moments that shape us forever. Both funny and heartbreaking, the musical has become one of the most celebrated contemporary works in American theatre.

The cast of FUN HOME features Katie Kerr as Alison, Elli Anna Vallow as Medium Alison, Kacie Capanna (June 5, 7, & 12) and Mak Mihleder (June 6, 11, & 13) as Small Alison, Ben Wren as Bruce Bechdel, Missy Newell as Helen Bechdel, Maria Perez as Joan, Ky MacLaughlin as Roy/Mark/Pete/Bobby Jeremy, Evan Hoffmann as Christian Bechdel, and Blake Buchan as John Bechdel.

A new stage. A new home. A new chapter.

As we celebrate 30 incredible years in Trafford, we’re also looking ahead: this fall, The Theatre Factory will be moving to a new home at Aluminum City Arts in New Kensington. We are thrilled to join a vibrant, creative community and continue bringing bold, engaging theater to Westmoreland County in an exciting new space. More information about upcoming productions, programming, and the transition to the new space will be shared in the coming months.
